Set Back..

Like every plan. It never goes as planned. Its a lot tougher than I imagined. People don't seem keen to give hikers lifts these days.. After leaving durban in the early hours I got to pennington just after 8pm.. I'm sleeping over here tonight and heading back tomorrow.. I need to plan this trip a lot better. And from what I've experienced doing this journey alone is extremely risky.
I'll keep everybody updated on my what I'm planning and when I'll start again.. Should be in a week or two.. Keep reading and thanx for the support..
Peace

Durban No Longer one of my favorite cities!!

Took the beach road to Durban. Got dropped off near the sports ground. Had 4 guys trying to sell me fake sun glasses and rubbish bags. Told them I'm not buying. So they got mad and left.. Went to the beach, waves was happening but didn't like the idea of leaving my backpack with all the blacks on the beach. So time to continue. Walked down snell(marine) parade checked out the stalls. Lots to buy for cheap. Thumbs up to souvenir's. Walked to umgeni road. "Stay away from umgeni road" its a really crappy area. Feels like your going to be mugged at any second.. found my friends shop in may street.. Wil be staying at his house tonight.. durban is fun but really don't have much to say for the city center

Balito

Arriving in balito.. This sun was cooking me alive the wind wasn't helping me much either is just turbo charging the heat in my face. Went straight to the beach. Wasn't really what I expected.. Sea was rough and barely worth paddling out.. So just sat on the beach eating a Lunch Bar and watching people enjoying summer..

The Journey Begins

Woke up super early this morning.. Double checked that I've packed everything.. Then departed round 9am.. First stop Balito

Secret Surf Spots??

Over many years riders around the world has been keeping the very best waves to themselves. Aka Secret Surf Spots.. Passed on from father to son, friend to friend, Even pro to Grom or like most legendary tales goes Via a Secret Map given or sold to a surfer by an Old Pure Weed Smoking Hippie. But fact of the matter is these places do exist I might show you one or two later on my journey. They truely are the very best surfers can ask for.. The waves might not be 10ft and crash down on a reef which can crush a surfer in a split second for an exciting adrenaline rush.. These places are calm with waves straight as the horizon and a perfect barrel crawling up from right to left. A wave begging a surfer for a ride. Do we keep these places secret or can we trust surfers to respect the surf and the locals. Just something to keep in mind
